Troy Smith Declares ‘I’m Officer’ and ‘Degree in Bachelors’ in this DUI Arrest Dashcam Video

2006 Heisman Trophy winner Troy Smith was arrested on Sunday in one of the more entertaining DUI stops of the year. Smith, former Ohio State quarterback, was stopped for missing his front license plate and for swerving all over the road. As the video released by TMZ Sports shows, Smith’s attempt to convince the officers that he was perfectly sober did not go well. When the first words out of your mouth are “I’m officer,” you might as well give up.

Smith, who is used to pressure on the football field, decides to press forward with his attempt at forged sobriety. When asked to recite the Alphabet (not even backwards) he fails at the oft confusing “K”. He goes on to say he graduated “with a degree in bachelors”.

In the end, he failed to prove his sobriety and was arrested for DUI and possession of marijuana. He had a blood alchohol level of .143, or just under twice the legal limit. After being processed and booked, he was released to his girlfriend.
